What to expect?
A. By the end of the 3rd day of this workshop, all participants will know everything necessary to apply RBT either to themselves or to their patients/clients.
B. In order to achieve the first goal, all participants may expect a lot of practical training and assignments and live therapy presentations. So, how much your learn depends a lot on how much you are involved in practicing. You may expect that you will be able to apply anything that you learn here to your own life or work immediately.
D. You may expect diverse backgrounds of participants, including therapists and lay people. In our experience, as it was reported in questionnaires from similar programs around the world, the participants emphasized that the particular value of this workshop and its diversity. It helps professionals see how lay persons learn and receive the RBT techniques during this workshop which, in turn, helps them in their future practice. Lay people can learn from professionals about problems that they might not have had personal experience with.
E. You may expect that many of the presented concepts may "feel wrong" to you; and that is good. The reason that this is good will be revealed during the second day.
F. Since many things will not feel right to you, we expect that you might have a lot of questions. We will have question and answer periods; so, whenever a question arises, please write it down. Particularly, write down anything that feels wrong to you or with which you do not agree. Then discuss it with your group (you will have time to do so) and your questions will be answered in the forum.
H. You may expect that at the end you will be able to protect yourself from burnout, guilt, anger and feelings of inferiority.
